Post-Secondary Education

The majority of new jobs in the future will require some post-secondary education. People with a post-secondary diploma, certificate or degree have greater opportunity to find and maintain good jobs and successful careers.

Information for most post-secondary schools, colleges and universities can be found on the web or in print format. Information is usually available about campus locations, courses and programs, application processes, tuition fees, student housing and other related topics.

Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship is an industry-based training program to support individuals in attaining qualifications as certified journeypersons. Apprenticeship programs usually combine on-the-job experiential learning with technical training.

Co-operative education

Co-operative education is a learning approach that combines classroom study with practical employment experience. Work term placements allow students to develop their skills and abilities and to build the knowledge they will need to meet the demands of today’s labour market.

Specialized training

Specialized training may be required for many occupations. This training is usually offered outside the normal post-secondary education framework.
