Challenging Client Groups Workshop
The “Challenging Client Groups ” module is a 60 hour course that covers the knowledge and practical skills required to conduct Employment counselling within selected and diverse population groups. Groups discussed are; Aboriginal Peoples, Ex-Offenders, Immigrants and Visible Minorities, Persons with Physical, Mental, Learning and Developmental Challenges, Older Workers, Social Assistance Recipients (SAR’s), Single Parents and Youth. It will include a thorough understanding of these diverse client groups, the challenges that they face in their individual career paths, while examining “best practices” concepts which normally underline the required individual and group employment counselling processes and strategies. Prerequisite: Anyone wishing to attend this training course should have previously completed either, Assessment Component of Employment Counselling (ACEC), or Active Engagement (AE) in order to gain the most benefit from the Challenging Client Groups course.
